This policy explains what cookies are, which ones Vantage Point Limited sets on this website and in the Vantage Point application, and how you control them. It sits alongside ourprivacy policy.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser when you visit. They let a site remember something about you between pages or visits: that you are signed in, that you dismissed a notice, or, with your permission, that a page was viewed. Some are set by the site you are on; others are set by services the site uses. Local storage is a related mechanism: a small key-value store in your browser that a site can read on later visits. Where this policy says "cookies", it means both.
How we use cookies
We use two categories on this website, and no others.
- Necessary. Required for the site to work as you expect. On this website that is one item: your cookie choice, so we do not ask again. Onapp.vantagepointgrc.com it is the sign-in session and the request-forgery token that keeps that session safe. These are enabled by default and cannot be disabled.
- Analytical. Help us understand how the site is used: which pages are read, from where, on what kind of device. We use Google Analytics with IP addresses anonymised. Nothing analytical is set until you allow it, and you can withdraw that at any time.
We do not use marketing or advertising cookies, and we do not allow third parties to track you across other sites through this one.

Signing in to the application with your organisation's identity provider (SAML single sign-on, including Microsoft Entra ID) may set cookies on that provider's own domain. Those are governed by your provider's policy, not this one.
Managing and disabling cookies
You can change your choice for this website at any time from, also linked in the footer of every page. Denying analytical cookies removes them from your browser on your next visit.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. Blocking the necessary cookies on the application will stop you signing in; blocking them on this website will mean we ask for your choice on each visit.
