It is built by a remote-first team: people who have sat in the compliance seat and people who have run other firms’ infrastructure and security, working from wherever they live.

Vantage Point’s founders built and still run SystemLabs, a Jersey managed service provider. They are in the product every day, and they are the people you would talk to first.
Steve Quinn, CEO
Steve co-founded SystemLabs in Jersey in 2018 and still runs it: a managed service provider responsible for the infrastructure, security and cloud estates of firms across the island. Keeping other people’s systems secure, patched and recoverable has been the day job for years.
He leads Vantage Point’s strategy and direction, and the security posture described on these pages is his to answer for. The estate Vantage Point runs on is run the way SystemLabs runs a client’s.
Jamie McDonald, CTO
Jamie co-founded SystemLabs with Steve and leads its engineering: the team, the architecture and the delivery discipline behind the platform SystemLabs runs its own operations on.
At Vantage Point he owns the product’s architecture and engineering, so secure development, code review and the release gates are part of how the product is built rather than a layer added afterwards.

An hour with Steve or Jamie about the work, the product and what you would want from the role. Both directions: you are choosing us too.

A working session
Real problems from the product or the estate, worked through together, in your own tools. No trick questions, no unpaid take-home project.

An offer in writing
The role, the terms and the start, in one document, with time to read it and someone to ask. If it is not right, we say so plainly and quickly, and we say why.
How we use AI, and how we don’t.
The founders build with AI coding tools every day, in the open. It changes how fast we can move; it does not change who is accountable. A person reviews every change, and a person makes every hiring decision.
How we use it
- To build faster: agents draft, engineers review, tests and gates decide what ships.
- To keep the regulatory library current, with every change checked by a practitioner.
- To take notes and tidy documents; never to score or filter people.
What we expect from you

- Where is the team based?
- Wherever you are. Vantage Point is a remote-first company: the team works from where they live, and we hire globally. Vantage Point Limited is registered in Jersey, which is where the company happens to be based; the product is built for regulated firms wherever they are. Where a role needs a particular time zone or location, the posting says so.
- Do I need a compliance background?
- Not for every role. Engineers need to be curious about the regulated world and patient with its detail; the practitioners on the team supply the rest. For customer-facing and product roles, time in or around a compliance function is a real advantage.
- How many stages are there?
- Usually three: an introduction, a conversation with a founder, and a working session. Occasionally four when a role needs it, and we say so up front. You will always know where you are.
- There is no opening for me. Should I write anyway?
- Yes. The team grows around people, not vacancies. Tell us what you would want to do here and we will keep in touch honestly, including when the answer is not yet.
